Adele Shares an Update About Her Vegas Residency
Adele postponed her Las Vegas residency shortly before her first show in November 2021. The "Easy on Me" singer tearfully broke the news in a video posted on her Instagram. At the time, she told fans that dates would be rescheduled, with more information coming soon. However, since the cancellation in November, there hasn't been an update on rescheduled dates.
"We are now working our asses off, but I don't want to announce a new set of dates until I know everything will definitely be ready," Adele said during an appearance on "The Graham Norton Show" on Feb. 11. "The sooner I can announce, the better, but I just can't in case we are not ready in time. It is absolutely 100 percent happening this year. It has to happen this year, because I've got plans for next year."
She also apologized for the last-minute cancellation, noting, "It would have been a really half-assed show and I can't do that. People will see straight through me up on the stage and know I didn't want to be doing it. I've never done anything like that in my life, and I'm not going to start now."
In Adele's initial announcement, she tearfully told fans, "I'm so sorry, but my show ain't ready. We've tried absolutely everything we can to put it together in time and for it to be good enough for you, but we've been absolutely destroyed by delivery delays and COVID." She went on to reveal that half of her crew and team are sick with COVID, and that it's been "impossible to finish the show."
"I'm gutted — I'm sorry it's so last minute; we've been awake for over 30 hours trying to figure it out, and we've run out of time. I'm so upset, and I'm really embarrassed and so sorry to everyone that traveled to get [to the show]. I'm really, really sorry," she concluded. Adele was set to kick off her "Weekends With Adele" residency on Jan. 21 at the Colosseum at Las Vegas's Caesars Palace hotel. She originally announced her 12-week Las Vegas residency via Twitter on Nov. 30, 2021. Keep reading for more on what to do if you need your ticket refunded.
